The Litany of the Saints is the most ancient litany in use today. It's first documented use was in 590 when Saint Gregory the Great instituted the litany in the procession of Saint Mamertus (procession of thanksgiving).

It is permissable to invoke your patron saint and/or favorite saints if not included. A partial indulgence is attached to the litany.
